Cactus Gin & Tonic
Did you know that…
The cactus has been a major food source in Mexico, having been harvested there for over 9 thousand years. An indigenous community from the north and west of Mexico, called it nohpalli. The Spanish later named it nopal.
With a unique texture, green colour and spiny body, more than 100 species of this cactus exist. In Mexico, it has been consumed and used since pre-Hispanic times due to its multiple medicinal benefits and its authentic flavour.
Gin is one of the most fashionable spirits in the cocktail world at present. One of the oldest and most regarded is Genever. This drink was first crafted by the Dutch during the seventeenth century. The name comes from its unique formula of barley, rye and corn, and later juniper.
